Unfortunately, we learned last week that we lost baby Garcia #2. We're not sure at what point it stopped developing, but probably before the 6 week mark. It was definitely a difficult experience, as we tried to remain hopeful and pray that everything was all right once I first noticed the bleeding on May 16th. James leaped into research mode that evening and tried to keep me calm as we waited to see the doctor the next day, but I knew something was wrong. We had an ultrasound, during which the tech was very quiet, and although I couldn't always see the screen, after leaving the office I asked James if he saw the flicker of a heartbeat, and he told me he didn't.
In all of this we are very thankful for our close friends and family who have shown how much they care for us, and I am personally thankful that I am surrounded by people who truly believe in the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception. I praise God that although we had to endure this experience, I was able to miscarry at home without any medical procedures.
