Friday proved to be quite a hectic day, starting out with a million people coming into our room in the morning--the lactation consultant, my doctor, Cadence's doctor, my nurse, the nursery nurse, the photo lady, the technician, the dining staff--and all the while I was trying to feed her AND make it to the discharge class at 10am. It was really stressful, and made me just want to kick everyone out. Cadence weighed in at 9lbs 12 oz that morning, which was not too severe of weight loss, and her jaundice risk was considered low.
We went to the discharge class and learned how to care for me and Cadence once we left, and of course got the "don't shake the baby" message. After that we had a little down time, then Monica came by with Alisha, and around noon Kelly, Kristen, and Amanda stopped by. It was nice to see them all again, and Kelly brought us food from Newk's which was yummy. Julie Harris also stopped by during the afternoon, but our most exciting visitors came by around 8:00--my mom, Emma, and Katrina made it! It was nice to have my family there to meet and greet Cadence, and James got a chance to go and get dinner. They stayed for a little while, and then headed to Bell Buckle to rest before the Moon Pie Race.
I got hungry late that night and sent James to raid the snack machine, as I knew I'd be up at 2am feeding the baby girl and would be starving at that point. A very good call on my part!
