Saturday morning James left at 5am to go run the 10 mile Moon Pie Run while Cadence and I had some good mommy/daughter time. We had the same gauntlet of visitors in the morning, but luckily they were more staggered so it wasn't as stressful, and I wasn't trying to feed Cadence at the time. We got everything checked off to be discharged, and then waited for James to come back from the race to pick us up. We finally left the hospital around noon, and headed straight back to Bell Buckle. My dad and three sisters were all at our house in lots of pain following the race, but the excitement of Cadence's homecoming made everyone perk up. My dad got first dibs on holding her, and it was pretty clear how much he loves her already. After some pass the baby time, they left to get my pain medication, drop their stuff at the loft, visit George Dickel, and go to Chili's while I took a nap.
Upon waking up from my nap I was in LOTS of pain, but they weren't yet back with my meds. I just started crying from the pain, which apparently broke James's heart as he had never seen me cry from physical pain before. They came back about an hour later with dinner for us, which was exactly what I needed, aside from the meds!
Cadence's first night at home went pretty well, although all her little baby noises kept me awake and alert, but it was better than I expected!
